Our Story

Importers & Distributors of Fine Italian Wine

Baglio San Vito is proudly known as one of the oldest winemakers in Sicily- Italy's southernmost region, and the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Baglio San Vito is geographically located in the heart of the world-renowned DOC qualified Salaparuta region of the island. Since 1893, the Crocchiolo family, enraptured by the love and passion of fine winemaking, has been devoted to the production and distribution of its efforts.

Crocchiolo family documents reveal that their initial winery was located in Via Tortorici in the old center of the town Salaparuta. In 1970, shortly after the earthquake of 1968 of Valle di Belice, Baron Vincenzo Crocchiolo, known as the "Baronetto," gave birth to a modern enopolio, in "Contrada San Vito," Trapani, Sicily. Soon after achieving several entrepreneurial successes, the "Baronetto" decided to construct a facility equipped with state of the art advanced wine production machinery. It is considered among the premier facilities being utilized in modern wine production today.

In 2010, Crocchiolo-Russo determined to expand into the United States market, became a full-licensed importer and distributor of the family estate's entire production.

Continuing to utilize century-old master winemaking techniques and methods, Crocchiolo-Russo birthed La Vite Inc. products which have now been proudly introduced into the United States market.
